FEES DO NOT INCLUDE THE OFA fee (discounted for clinics) – credit card on the OFA form.
All walk-ins (if space available) will have a $10 surcharge per dog.

Share your knowledge, and experience! If you would like to be a Mentor, or present Breed seminars please sign up for our training sessions. AKC requires that you must have been active in the breed for 12 years or more..
Training is necessary in the process to be included on the approved BTCA list of presenters and mentors.
Presenter training to include thorough discussion of the standard with the illustrated standard as well as a point to point presentation. Presenters, and mentors as always will be asked to refrain from personal opinions of the Standard, and to present all observations in a positive light.

The Border Terrier Club of America offers a judge’s seminar on the breed every year in conjunction with its annual national specialty. This year’s seminar/workshop will take place on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Robert’s Center in Wilmington, OH. The seminar begins with a 90 minute classroom discussion of the border terrier presented by experienced and approved club members. This includes a power point presentation, discussion of the breed standard along with an opportunity of hands-on with two border terriers, plus questions and answers. The seminar begins when the judge takes his/her lunch. Judges are invited to sit at ringside during the day with a number of breed approved mentors available to answer questions and discuss the border terrier. Following judging there will be a Judges Education Workshop to evaluate 5-6 border terriers shown by BTCA club members. Discussion and hands on of these dogs is also a 90 minutes session per AKC guidelines. It is for the judges' education only and is to be kept confidential and not shared even with the exhibitors. We promise that this experience will send you home with a thorough understanding of the border terrier; its roots, standard and how and why it is bred to be an excellent earth dog which can also follow a horse all day.
